Thursday, June 23, 2005: The people at SBC are a bunch of freakin morons. I want to set up a land line because we get crappy reception on our cell phones in our own home. Local calls only, nothing fancy. So, I go online to set up local service. All goes well as I select my options. Even set up an installation time, phone number, whatnot. As I'm looking over my order form and I realize that I needed to change some information so I hit the change button. I change the information and then the page expires and I can't get back to where I was. Any logical person would think that when they called customer service that they would be able to get some help. Oh no....I was told that the person on the other line was a live person and that they didn't deal with online orders. I asked if there was a help desk. Nope, I would have to follow the prompts on my computer screen. She asked if I had to enter an email address and told me to check my email (and of course there is no email from SBC in my mail box).
