Tag - you're not "it"

Puhleez...give me a freakin' break. I felt like gaging after reading this blurb in Time magazine. Makes me think of a video of George Carlin saying that kids need a helmet for everything but masturbation. Have we gotten caught up in the PC world and shelterning our kids that it's actually doing them more harm than good? Kids are supposed to play Tag!!!!!! (let's not forget the various versions of Tag, like Statues). Some of life's most disappointing moments make us who we are. So, to all those overprotective parents and educators: Get over it, let your kids be kids and let them play Tag.

Solutions?

I certainly don't have the answer to our problems in Iraq. Unfortunately, nether does our government. October brings us the highest death toll in American soldiers. Obviously there needs to be a change.

Bring our troups home safe and sound.

I have wanted to post for the last couple of weeks but everytime I think about it I either don't have access to a computer or it's too late.

We've been keeping pretty busy lately. Terry and I have been doing a bible study through our church. It's not your typical bible study in that the material we're using is from here. It's a lighter take on the Lutheran church and thus far has been quite enjoyable. We're able to bring Sarah and take turns in keeping an eye on her so at least one of us can focus on the discussion.

I have started my women's bible study through MOPS that meets on Monday nights. We go for six week sessions. About half (maybe a bit more) of the women seem to be from the Catholic church but there is a decent variety of denominations and brings forth some good discussion.

Last weekend took us to Chicago....here's my summary:

Cost of tolls? $6.00 (approx)
Cost of having a family picture of five generations? Priceless.

As we were driving on I-90, I saw a sign from the Department of Transportaion in Illinois. Looking at the abbreviations (IDOT) I couldn't help but think, "Gee, if you put another 'I" in there you get 'idiot', how fitting". A split second later, I hear Terry repeating my very thoughts. Funny in a scary kind of way.

Sarah is now 9 1/2 months. How time flies. She started on some sold foods and has been pulling herself up. It's amazing to watch how she's learning new things everyday.

There's been other things that I have wanted to blog about regarding this and that events but I think I'll end things here. I hope to blog about this soon.

Reading material

I have recently found the ambition to pick up a book and read. Shocking, I know. Bad Girls has been an interesting read thus far. I'm looking forward to finnishing and reading other titles by this author.

Oh Beautiful

Why travel abroad when we have beautiful sites right here at home?

Note: It's a bit long but worth watching.

Who would of thought...

that something like this would have happened in Wisconsin? Since when is it cool to bring guns to school and kill innocent people? It seems to be the latest craze since Columbine. How very sad.
