Friday, July 20, 2007: So, it's been awhile since I've updated my blog. It's not that there hasn't been anything happening. I just haven't found much motivation to sit down and blog. Maybe it's not a lack of motivation...it seems that the latest series of current events have me very troubled. The Pope's Latest Proclamation: This makes me sad on many accounts. Catholicism is the only way to salvation?! What? St. Peter is going to be at the gates asking for proof? What is he going to say... "Sorry, you believed, you lived your life as a true Christian but you aren't Catholic. No heaven for you, come back one year." I'm embarrassed for my past. I'm embarrassed for my family (Note: the key word is for and not of). The Catholic church has enough to deal with without having Pope Benedict create any more hate. The church had been headed in a new direction. All that became of the church post-Vatican II and all the work of his predecessor will quickly disappear. *shaking head* Missing Persons: Why is there such an outbreak? The latest news is of Fran Tate, a local woman that has been reported missing. It's always sad to hear of a story like Kelsey Smith's (she was the one that was kidnapped in Target parking lot in Kansas) but when the cases hit close to home then it's a rude awakening. You never think it's going to happen to you but it can. You can't do anything to prevent things from happening. Situations like this doesn't mean that you go out and enjoy life. Just be aware of your surroundings and be safe. On a lighter note.... House stuff: Not much activity has happened until after the 4th. We had a couple of showings last week and a couple in the next few days. It will happen when it happens. Last weekend was the Am Fam Company Picnic. We headed up to Noah's Ark for the afternoon and it proved to be fun for the most part. I think it would have been more enjoyable if Sarah was a couple years older. She had fun splashing in the kiddie pool. Speaking of Sarah, she had been sick for about a month or so and we finally got her on antibiotics for what was diagnosed as a sinus infection. It started out with coughing at night and that went on for a couple of weeks. Then nasal congestion and finally fever. It wasn't until the 3rd trip to the MD that they gave her amoxicillin. Worked like a charm. She's done with the meds and back to her usual self. Next weekend we're off to MN. Hopefully Terry can get done with work early on that Friday so we can get a good start. Well, I think I've made up for lost time...until next time... posted by Maryanne @ 2:01 PM | | |
