Weekend adventures

This past weekend Terry and I celebrated our third anniversary by going to Kewaunee and staying at The Karsten Inn. Terry had won a one night stay there just about a month before we got married and we had enjoyed ourselves. We figure we would take advantage that we can still get away and not have to find a babysitter just yet.
Friday night we went to Algoma (where Terry lived when we first met) and had pizza at Penguin City. Thin crust, lotsa cheese..mmmm.
Saturday, we wen't back to Algoma and enjoyed the waves crashing on the beach. The water was rough but somewhat calming. No trip to NE Wisconsin would be complete without going to the Packer Pro Shop and Lambeau Field. We got some stuff for the baby and a t shirt for Terry. Had lunch at Lambeau and got to see some of the players leave practice. It was pretty cool.
We then went to Heritage Hill. It was a pretty neat place that takes you back in time. In some areas it felt like stepping into a Laura Ingalls Wilder book. It was interesting to learn that the beaver was once the standard of trade. It's fur is much softer than I imagined. I thought it would be corse like deer or bear.
Sunday we went back to Algoma and had breakfast at Dairy Deans. It's somewhere inbetween a mom and pop place and a greasy spoon restaurant. If you want the local dish, that's the place to be. We made home in time to watch most of the disappointing Packer game. I have to agree with Terry on this one
There were some improvements on both sides of the ball, but not enough to get a win. I sense some impatience on the part of Brett Favre, and I think it's starting to affect his game adversely. They badly need a win to get back on track.
