Sunday, November 27, 2005: So, I saw the new Harry Potter movie this afternoon. I won't go into much detail for those that have not seen it yet and are wishing to do so. The movie itself was good (mainly because of special effects) but of course there were many details left out. At least this time, I was a little more prepared. It was a good thing that Pauline and I got there over half hour early because seats filled up quickly. I'm glad I went and told Terry that I'd see it again (matinee price though). posted by Maryanne @ 5:27 PM | | Snow+Driving=Stupidity? Terry and I had to leave Sturgeon Bay early on Friday because I had a doctor's appt in Madison. The drive was good up until about Beaver Dam where it started to snow. It wasn't too bad at first as the snow was just blowing around. As we approached Sun Prairie, it got progressively worse. Shortly after we got on the interstate we encountered our first accident (one of about 9-10). This happens every year. The first big snow comes through and people turn in to morons. My appointment was at 3pm and I just barely made it. Dad's birthday was Friday and we originally were going to go out to eat in Madison, but he changed his mind and we ended up at one of the new restaurants in Stoughton, Broux House. The food was ok, ambiance a little noisy due to cement floors and open ceilling. I had one of their pizzas which was again, ok. I don't know if it was the cheese or the crust that just wasn't right. Terry had walleye and also wasn't overly impressed. We will give them another chance and hopefully have a better experience. posted by Maryanne @ 5:19 PM | | Progress... We've removed the teddy bear border in the nursery and most of the non-nursery items have been removed. I've been reminded over the last week or so that time is running out. Am I scared? Maybe a little. I'm to the point where I just want it over with. posted by Maryanne @ 5:17 PM | | Monday, November 14, 2005: Wins So Green Bay scored their second win this season. It would be nice to see them win NFC Championship but chance of that happening are not that great. If I had to choose (besides GB), I'd rather see Chicago win than the Viqueens. Yesterday was my first baby shower which proved to be a success. I think (at least I hope) everyone had a good time. I hope to post a pic or two sometime soon. Just as Terry and I are finnishing clearing the baby's room, we get to fill it up again. At least this time the things will have a purpose and get some use. posted by Maryanne @ 1:12 PM | | Saturday, November 12, 2005: Oh baby Things are moving along slowly but surely with the preparation of our new addition. Even though we're having a girl, Terry and I still can't agree upon a name and he's accused me of complaining that he doesn't blog about his daughter and or my pregnancy. I haven't complained, I have just commented. There is a big difference. Anyways, our top choices of names are Sarah Elisabeth or Adelia Mae. I like the name Adelia, and I'd like to call her Addie. I just don't think that Addie Anschutz sounds right. Call it trivial but it's my opinion. Guess we'll find out who the winner is in the end. Only just over two more months to go. posted by Maryanne @ 3:10 PM | | In Memory.. I recently learned of the passing of Sister Laurian Pieterek. She was one of my professors at Viterbo. I remember taking her 8:00 class class, Philosophy of the Human Person. Normally I would have complained about the early hour, but she was such a profound person that most times it didn't matter. Terry would have laughed at one of her lessons one day, when she told us to take a walk and hug a tree. Yes, she was a nun but her soul was much deeper than the teachings of the Catholic church. She embraced spirituality as a whole. She will be greatly missed. posted by Maryanne @ 3:02 PM | | |
