Saturday, November 12, 2005: I recently learned of the passing of Sister Laurian Pieterek. She was one of my professors at Viterbo. I remember taking her 8:00 class class, Philosophy of the Human Person. Normally I would have complained about the early hour, but she was such a profound person that most times it didn't matter. Terry would have laughed at one of her lessons one day, when she told us to take a walk and hug a tree. Yes, she was a nun but her soul was much deeper than the teachings of the Catholic church. She embraced spirituality as a whole. She will be greatly missed. posted by Maryanne @ 3:02 PM | | |
