The Sesame Street Personality Quiz posted by Maryanne @ 2:18 PM | | Thursday, May 25, 2006: Rain, rain go away April showers bring May flowers..or is it the other way around? Seems as though we didn't get much rain in April but May is bringing quite the water supply. I know I shouldn't complain much because I do enough complaining about the weather in the winter. Also, it's good for the grass and considering that Terry just planted grass seed we could use a little rain. Note that I said little. I hope the weather stays somewhat decent this weekend. posted by Maryanne @ 3:30 PM | | Saturday, May 20, 2006: Syttende Mai This weekend marks the celebration of Syttende Mai..also affectionately known as ShitIn MyEye weekend (I'm not quite sure why though). What is Syttende Mai you ask? Supposedly it's celebrating Norway's independance day, but a recent article in the Courier Hub indicates differently. Last night Terry and I played in the City Band at the opening ceremonies. This usually starts at the end of the annual canoe race. It often makes me wonder why we don't start playing earlier because no one listens to us as the racers come in. Maybe this is unavoidable. Who knows... Anyways, afterwards we made a trip to curb my desire for FFA cheese curds. Yuuumy! On our way there we saw a few people I know from school. It's interesting to see some of the people that I grew up with, now with their own children. Looking at their children is like a flashback in time from when we were in school. Does this make me feel old? Not really. Although I'm sure Terry would like to argue this. Today we walked downtown. It wasn't terribly crowded. I got some more cheese curds (this is the only time of the year I can get them) and also a Coney Dog. Yes, you read right, a Coney Dog. They were selling Chose A&W Coney Dogs at the Norwegian Dancer booth (recipe courtesy of Frieda Chose). The Chose's sold the A&W in 1995 (to a couple of pot smoking losers) so it was nice to have that tasty treat again. Would have been nice if it would have been 99 cents though. So, that has been our experience thus far. Sarah's first Syttende Mai weeekend. Tomorrow will be the big parade. She won't be able to have cheese curds this year but there will be plenty of other years to come. posted by Maryanne @ 2:26 PM | | Wednesday, May 17, 2006: Roly Poly Sarah rolled over for the first time today. It won't be long now before she's crawlin all over the place...watch out world, here she comes. posted by Maryanne @ 8:15 PM | | Monday, May 08, 2006: Happy Birthday... ...old man, or should I say old men? Both my husband and brother-in-law celebrated birthdays today. posted by Maryanne @ 6:34 PM | | Friday, May 05, 2006: 4 Months Yes, Sarah is 4 months old today. We took her to the doctor and here's the update: 12lbs 13oz 24 1/4 inches The doctor is pleased with her progress and so are we. I had to refrain from telling him "I told you so". The Zantac we have been giving her has helped a lot. She still spits up, but it's nothing like what it used to be. She's a much happier baby these days. Now if we can conquer sleeping through the night... posted by Maryanne @ 4:35 PM | | |
