All or nothing
I orignally was going to return to work today but for a few reasons didn't. I just don't feel I'm ready to leave Sarah just yet (yes, I'm a first time mom). Plus, we're waiting to see what happens with our childcare situation (i.e. our babysitter is expecting child #3 and should have the baby soon). I talked to HR last week to see how long I can take leave before I have to pay for health insurance and was told April 15. Fair enough. I was also told that I could potentially come back part time until that date but that it was at the departments discretion. Cool. Today I learned that if I come back it has to be on a full time basis. Management is not going to honor my part time request. It's all or nothing. Alright, I can see from a business standpoint why they won't grant my request but give me a frickin break. It's just a matter of two weeks that I'd be part time and then I would resume my full time status. *sigh* So much for flexibility. Back to square one, sort of. My thought...return April 5th (my baby will be 3 months *sob*) and then that next week I have Good Friday completely off...considering that Terry will have a flex day off each week it will be like I'm going back part time....two can play at this game so there! =P
