Wednesday, March 22, 2006: I was able to sit down yesterday morning and listen to the latest CD I've received. Earl Madary presents his listeners with a collection of songs encompassing Christian faith and God's love in his latest release, Gilead. It's a quiet yet complling profession of profound faith and deep love of God. The songs at first seem bare and sparse since the accompaniment is a mix of guitar and piano only (with percussion on "Psalm 40"); however, I think it is almost better this way. It helps to spotlight his message of a clear and pure faith. I was introduced to Earl when I was Viterbo. He was my professor, mentor, and friend. Earl has a beautiful tenor voice. I have always admired his warm and clear tone. Holding Sarah, enjoying a morning cup of coffee and listening to Gilead was a wonderful way to start my day...both Sarah and I enjoyed it. posted by Maryanne @ 6:34 AM | | |
